Well, I've been working on a few things here and there. I made an afghan and turtle for a friend of mine but I have (apparently) forgotten how to upload a photo. I've been working on squares and preemie caps and of course, my WIP - the filet curtain...still not finished.
I'm thinking a new baby girl is coming to my extended family next month, if all goes well. I need to start my planned afghan. I will be swiping an element or two from somebody else, but I think it will be good. It will be sort of a quilt time afghan, done in pinks.
I must have a dozen crochet books around me, old and relatively new. There is simply not enough time in the day to work on all I want to do. So maybe I'll learn how to crochet with my feet. That way I could work and crochet at the same time. I know it couldn't be anything too complex, but I'd be able to get my crochet obligations out of the way.
And here's a strange thing you won't believe. I decided to participate in a yarn bombing. Oh yeah, you heard me. But it will be a yarn bombing with a twist - I intend to give a piece of sculpture a hat and a scarf. That way, if somebody removes it, they can actually use what I crocheted. Well, it works for me.....
later....
This blog has no crochet lessons, just so you know. But it does have elements of crochet and creating. If you want to contact me, leave a message in the comment section of the blog:) Thank you.

ahhh, FM?
Before I start off, I should tell you that the CGOA has sent out an email warning their members of fake renewals. The fakes are coming from Publishers Billings. I received one and tossed it just because I knew I had just renewed my membership. So be on the lookout so you don't get scammed. Here's a quote from the email for you:
"Any true CGOA membership renewal notice will always state clearly that it is from CGOA.
If you have any question regarding your CGOA membership renewal status, feel free to contact CGOA@CGOA.com or call CGOA headquarters at 740-452-4541."
I hate to report this but I got nothing. Seriously, I usually search posts and listings for free crochet patterns that would pertain to whatever my theme (if there is one) might be and I just haven't had the time. I'm always amazed at how fast Christmas comes. When I was a kid, from Thanksgiving to Christmas seems like an unbearable stretch of time. Now it's like put away the dishes from Thanksgiving and it's Christmas.
I still don't have my tree up. My sons were going to come over yesterday (it's our tradition) but with 12+ inches of snow, that wasn't going to happen. And today we had to take them to the store so they could get shovels to dig out the car. Apparently, we haven't had that much snow since they moved out. The main highways here are generally good, but the side streets have not been plowed. They probably won't be until Thursday;)
Even though I have no free patterns to offer this week, I do have a link to the world's largest crochet blanket.
http://fortheloveofcrochetalong.blogspot.com/2009/12/worlds-largest-crochet-blanket.html
The woman worked on it for 11 years! That would drive me nuttier than I already am. I am working on a hat for the youngest great nephew and fretting about finishing it in time. It's a baby hat, how long can it take? Shouldn't be very long, since I started one pattern and ripped it all out. Plus I got to finish his bib.
And I'm doing Christmas this year, woo hoo. Actually, I'm providing the house for it, my brother and sister-in-law are supplying the food. My sister-in-law is pursuing her nurse practioner's degree and between school and work, they won't have it together. I'm not so sure I will either, but whatever happens, it will work out. It always does, one way or the other.
I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas.

Want to know what an enneagon is? It's the same as a nonagon. I know, that tells you exactly nothing. Both words are used to describe a polygon that has 9 sides. Of course, here's a freebie for such an item.

In the United States of America, the 4th of July is celebrated with many fireworks and parades - and picnics. If you really have the time to pull it off, these are neat Independence Day patterns. You could make them in any color you want for your own celebration - maybe a summer wedding.

Since we are talking about holidays, here's a mini Christmas stocking pattern that also has a tutorial on YouTube.

Judith Prindle has some wonderful patterns on this blog site - check it out.

More amigurumi? Here's a little tree stump and mushroom pattern for you.

There are several different ways to join crochet motifs. This particular site shows the advantages and disadvantages of some of them.

How about a diagonal shell stitch pattern - looks intriguing.

This crocheted market bag is really cool looking - I love the photo.

As usual, no fees have been paid to me for pointing out these free patterns. I was trying to get a little crochet "payola" ;) going on but apparently crochet designers don't participate in that sort of thing. oh well.

just another Freebie Monday
it's all not free patterns, folks;) some are just cool websites...
Looking for some Halloween crochet? This site has plenty of free patterns:
And this one does have a pretty cool pattern for a starghan (a round ripple afghan). It doesn't show the holes the way a normal ripple afghan does. The blogger said she invented a new stitch, but it's better if she explains it than me.

I don't know who Twinkie is, but apparently "everybody" is talking about her. I always thought that was a snack cake, but I guess I'm wrong:
http://crochet.craftgossip.com /everbodys-talking-about-twinkie/2007/10/05/
I love Stitchy McYarnpants. It's just so funny. And I have to admit that yes, I did crochet some of those designs back in my wilder days. But hey, it was the '70s, all the other crocheters were doing it, and I thought just a little bit wouldn't hurt anybody. Now I see I was wrong;)

If you seen the floors in my house, the statement I'm about to make won't shock you. I don't have a Swiffer wet mop thingie. But apparently a lot of people do and some crochet the cover instead of using the little covers you have to buy for it.

How about some Lion Brand Halloween crochet - here goes a pirate. It looks fairly easy to me....
http://cache.lionbrand.com /patterns/70445AD.html?noImages=
Again, I don't get a kickback or payola from any of these people. I'd take it, but nobody offers;)
